The violin is a major instrument in music and in this piece, it serves as the background for the depiction of music soaring from its origins (in this case, Boettcher Hall) to the heavens.
After being CEO of a computer graphics company for twenty years, Cohen embarked on a painting career. He produces water colors, acrylics and mixed media collages and his subjects vary from cityscapes of New York City and Denver to landscapes of various international sites. He has shown his work at the Art Students League of Denver, the Denver Center for Performing Arts, The Carousel Palette in Littleton and in Miami and Newport News, Virginia.
