Call For Artists

Become A Painted Violin Artist

The Painted Violin project is a marketing tool for the Denver Young Artists Orchestra. Artists are nominated by committee members or gallery owners, and art lovers. Local, regional and nationally-renown artists donate their time and talent to create original works of art using a retired, unplayable violin as a blank canvas on which to create a work in their own distinctive styles.

These unique, one-of-a kind works of art will be displayed throughout the community in venues-such as Boettcher Concert Hall, the Lakewood Cultural Center, Curtis Arts and Humanities Center, Madden Museum, and many other locations.

The Painted Violin Opening is scheduled for November 12, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. following the YAO Chamber Orchestra Concert at Lakewood Cultural Center. The tour ends with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra 40th Anniversary gala on March 18, 2018.

DYAO accepts submissions throughout the year.
