$2,400

"I paint.  You dance.  Another plays the violin.  We are all God's music. I need my paintings to be as authentic as my life.  When I see beauty, I want to paint it.  When I hear music, I want to feel it.  To paint a violin is to share in God's music.”

National award winning pastelist and oil painter, Connie Renner creates figurative work that is strong and compassionate.  Out of her heart for people her brush speaks loudly that people matter.  Renner is a painter, wife, mother, and friend.  She has passionately pursued painting for over 20 years with both fear and enthusiasm.  Only recently has she discovered her voice.  The challenge of the next painting keeps her coming back to the easel asking, "How can I communicate I am in love with what I am painting."  It is her love that drives her dedication to mastery and a deep connection to her subject.  Influenced by past masters Sargent, Zorn, Sorrolla, Monet, Degas, Fechin and Andrew Wyeth and instructed under present masters Doug Dawson, Mark Daily, and Quang Ho, Renner is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and is represented by Abend Gallery Fine Art, Denver, Colorado.  Collected across the US, Renner is in the permanent collection of the Butler Institute of Art, Youngstown, Ohio.  She is published by Northlight Books in the Best of Portrait Painting. Awards include Mile High Plein Air Show - 3rd place and purchase award (2008); Pastel Journal's top 100 (2006 and 2007); Pastel Society of America Joseph V. Giffani Award and Purchase Award (2006); Bronze Medal, International Association of Pastel Societies Museum Show (1998). http://connierenner.com
